Vetted Clincians

2SLGBTQIA+ Clinicians

Your TBTB Family recognizes that mental health and wellness are not solely focused on operational stress. Therapy is a form of self-care. This is why we have vetted and compiled a list of amazing therapists to help you with a variety of psychological and emotional needs. These Clinicians offer a variety of approaches we are confident will support you at whatever stage of life you are in.

Meet The Vetted Clinicians

Registered Social Worker/ MSW RSW

My name is Lou Gallo and I am a trans-identified clinical social worker who has been in the mental health field for over 20 years. I have worked in school settings, in the community with LGBTQ2IS youth, and within clinical mental health settings. I have a specialization in working with adults who have experienced trauma, including those who have experiences of suicidality and suicidal behaviours. I also have specific experience supporting people who identify as having a Learning Disability and/or ADHD.

Using mindfulness and system-based theories within an ARAO framework, I support people in making choices that have a positive impact on their lives.

I'm a Registered Social Worker with 7+ years of experience working with youth and adults in the community and mental health settings. I strive to work from a person-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative approach. I believe that every person deserves the dignity and respect of making their own choices in life and carving out their own unique path. I don't have any easy solutions or techniques for working through life's struggles. Rather, my priority is building a strong and genuine therapeutic alliance with you by providing a non-judgmental, empathetic space for self-exploration and processing difficult experiences/emotions.

I work with individuals 16+ who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, substance use concerns, existential questions (meaning of one's life), thoughts of suicide, major life changes, and relationship issues. I am a 32-year-old transgender man myself, but welcome the opportunity to work with clients of all genders/backgrounds.

I specialize in working with queer, transgender, and GNC individuals as well as the parents and partners of 2SILGBTQ individuals. I will work collaboratively with you to navigate life’s challenges, uncover your strengths, build resilience, and broaden your understanding of self and others. When it comes to mental wellness people often suffer in silence. I know from experience breaking the silence and finding the right person to talk to can be freeing. As a person with lived experience of being trans/ queer, depression, anxiety, body shame, and self-doubt I understand the importance of community, chosen family, and support.

If you identify as 2SILGBTQ I can support you through: coming out, transitioning, body image, family, work/school, dating, gender identity, gender expression, sexual identity, and just life challenges in general. If you are a parent of a 2SILGBTQ person we can work together to address concerns, self-doubt, support options, advocacy skills, and, much more.
